We are using Zinsser 1-2-3 Primer & Sealer in gray. This primer is "stain blocking, fast drying, and has excellent adhesion to glossy surfaces". Use Zinsser 1-2-3 Gray Primer "with rich or dark topcoat colors to improve adhesion and coverage. May be used under and over any oil or latex architectural paint. The dried film is mold and mildew resistant."
Zinsser
- Sticks to all surfaces without sanding (I hate sanding)
- Seals uniformly (this is true)
- Blocks stains (we will see)
- Drys in one hour (this is true)
- Use with any topcoat
We were planning to paint the walls gray so Zinsser worked perfectly. Zinsser is tint-able and finishes flat. You do need two coats b.c the first coat on the vinyl walls shows brush marks. The second coat goes on smooth. We upgraded our rollers to get a smoother finish.
